This week sees the Chief Fire Officers Association week long campaign to reduce drowning and improve water safety in the UK.
FIre and Rescue Services all over the UK will be working with other agencies and organisations to improve awareness and understanding of the risk associated with water….why ? ….because every year in the UK around 600 people die in the water…and around 400 of those deaths are accidental .
We want to ensure people enjoy the waterside safely when they are out walking their dogs, going fishing, enjoying a day out or on their way home from a night out.
If you are interested in learning more about the campaign check out the CFOA Facebook page or Twitter account @CFOAfire and to find out more about the National approach please visit the National Water Safety Forum’s website.
